The National Sunday School Department is headed by a National Superintendent, who oversees the development of children’s ministries (commonly called Sunday Schools in Jamaica) in the local churches. This involves teacher training and the sharing of creative tools and methods to engage young minds and hearts in learning the word of God and coming to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We believe the Sunday School is the ‘pulse’ of the church and so our Pastors and leaders are encouraged to invest heavily in this area to ensure that each child who enters the door of any Foursquare Church in Jamaica is ministered to at his or her level of development. Each child is given the opportunity, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and spirit led teachers, to discover their purpose and true potential while framing their identity in the word of God.
Children’s ministry forms an integral part in the training of young leaders and workers in the church. In addition to learning the scriptures, our children are afforded opportunities to utilize their skills and talents in local services as well as missions and evangelism efforts once they’ve professed the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Generally, our Sunday Schools are for all ages, as the believers are encouraged to be constant students of the word of God.
