The Youth Department in each assembly is often referred to as the ‘training ground’ for prospective leaders in the local church. It caters to the needs of teenagers to young adults teaching them how to love God and to grow in grace. The leadership of each local youth group, with the guidance of their Pastors, is allowed to organize their affairs including planning activities to capture the minds, hearts and interest of teenagers and young adults.
The National Youth Department under the leadership of its Director and an executive body is responsible for organizing activities and events on the national calendar geared specifically for the edification of our youth. The staple event is the National Youth Convention which is held on Ash Wednesday each year. This involves the coming together of youth from all our churches for a time of fellowship, worship and teaching.
The National Department also works with local youth leaders to execute activities to unearth the talents, skills and capabilities of future leaders while providing a nurturing environment for spiritual and emotional development.
Our youth are encouraged to be unswerving in their faith, godly examples to believers and unbelievers and to be energetic carriers of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the unconverted everywhere.
